car audio amps shut off!!! car audio expert advice please?
ok in my 95 cadillac deville ive done the big 3 conversion, upgraded to a 350 amp alt and i am running 2 kinetik hc2400 batteries and have a yellow top optima battery as my base battery and the are all wired parellel.im running 3 jl 12w7 subs that are being powered by 3 jl 100v2 amps. each amp has a 300 amp fuse and 3 25 farad pyle dryver caps(1 to each amp). my head unit is a kenwood double din dvd/cd player with touch screen. it is all wired right. my problem is when i turn the music up to a certain point the amps cut off for about 3-5 secs. and turn back on. i was wondering if it could be the remote wire coming from the head unit because i have it spliced into 3 wires 1 to each amp. do yall think its because the remote from the head unit isnt strong enough to support all amps? do they make a remote power amplifier? or would it be better to just run wires from the batteries to a toggle switch to the amps.
the amp wire on the back of the deck is not really pushing to much power instead of hitting 3 wires off the 1 wire on the deck try running the amp wire to ONE amp and then get another wire and connect one end to the amp wire on the first amp and connect the other end to the SECOND amp and so on. If that does not solve the problem then take a wire a connect the POSITIVE screw to the Amp screw on the amps this will LEAVE your amps on all the time but we will do it temporarily, once you do this to you 3 amps then crank up the volume and see if it still shuts off. If so then something with your amps is wired wrong and they are shutting off to project themselves, since it seems you would have enough power going to your amps it would not seem like a power issue. It is allot easier to show you what to do then it is for typing it sorry if this is confusing
